Filmmaker Updates: Sol Friedman, Desiree Lim, Shasha Nakhai

Filmmaking requires talent, time and most importantly…money and your votes! Our Reel Asian filmmakers have been busy and need your support to fund their projects:

  • Sol Friedman (Director of Junko’s Shamisen) is hoping to secure production financing to fund a feature version of JUNKO’S SHAMISEN. He needs your vote to help make this dream a reality. For a limited time, you also get to watch the short film in its entirety. More here.
  • Desiree Lim (2010 Canadian Spotlight Artist) is working on a new film based on ghost stories she heard growing up. Find out more here. Hear Desiree talk about it here and fund her film, THE HOUSE here.
  • Shasha Nakhai (2010 So You Think You Can Pitch winner – emerging category) has 36 more days to raise $2,075 for THE SUGAR BOWL. This was the film she pitched to our panel of jurors last festival. Support her dream here.
