About Gauri Gill: The Americans
In The Americans Gauri Gill takes the United States of America as her subject, but through a new lens of cultural specificity and multiculturalism, with a focus on South Asian communities in a pre- and post-9/11 landscape. Gill presents an intimate look at interior worlds, often populated by family and friends, documenting the tensions between the optimism of their times and the realities of class, race and cultural differences.
