Asian selections at this year’s Inside Out

A Dragged Out Affair (Dir. Sonia Hong)

This year’s 21st Annual Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film and Video Festival takes place May 19-29, 2011 at the TIFF Lightbox and Buddies in Bad Times Theatre.

There are wonderful works to look forward to. In particular, here are the Asian selections included and works by friends and filmmakers of Reel Asian:

  • William Yang – The Art of Seduction (Dir. Craig Boreham, Australia 2009)
  • George and Brad in Bed (Jessica Sanders, USA 2009)
  • The Comfort Window (Dir. Wayne Yung, 2010) – Reel Asian screened Wayne’s Miss Popularity in 2007
  • Spring (Dir. Hong Khaou, UK 2010)
  • Together (Dir. Zhao Liang, PRC 2011) – a Reel Asian Co-Presentation
  • Masala Mama (Dir. Michael Kam, Singapore 2010)
  • The Queen (Dir. Christina Choe, USA 2009)
  • I’m In The Mood For Love (Dir. Jason Karman, Canada 2010) – Reel Asian showed Jason’s State of Yo in 2008, and he will be in attendance from Vancouver
  • The LuLu Sessions (Dir. S. Casper Wong, 2011)
  • Thanks for Coming (Dir. Pearl Tan, Australia 2009)
  • A Dragged Out Affair (Dir. Sonia Hong, Canada 2010) – Reel Asian’s 2009 So You Think You Can Pitch Winners
  • Making Ladies (Dir. Lesley Loksi Chan and Dilia Narduzzi) – Lesley was Reel Asian’s Canadian Spotlight artist in 2007; she also directed Redress Remix (Reel Asian 2010) and a short for Suite Suite Chinatown (Reel Asian 2010)
  • Left (Dir. Keith Cole, Canada 2011) – Keith has hosted several events for Reel Asian; most recently as MC for the 2010 So You Think You Can Pitch competition
  • The Casuarina Cove (Dir. Boo Junfeng, Singapore 2008)
  • Slow Burn (Dir. Christine Chew, Canada 2011)
  • How to Stop a Revolution (Dir. Kenji Tokawa, Canada 2011)
