Summer programs at NFB for youth: NFB Reel Institute, Animation Camps, Animation, Pixilation and Filmmaking Workshops and much more!

The NFB Reel Institute is a new initiative being offered to teenagers aged 14+ to hone their filmmaking skills. In addition to continuing to learn how to practice creativity, how to turn ideas into reality, and how to work within a team against a deadline, participants will gain transferable, tangible skills that will help them gain a head start in prepping for a potential, fulfilling career in gaming, interactive media and movie special effects just to name a few! Participants will also be mentored by highly-experienced, NFB-approved facilitators, and participants’ films will play at an end-of-week screening for family and friends in our theatre. The session runs August 15-19, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Registration fee of $350*

Mystery-themed Animation Camps (ages 8-13) are week long sessions that let your child experiment with various hands-on techniques. Pick the week that suits your family and let your child create their own mystery movie. Registration fee of $300*
