Filmmaker Updates: Mingu Kim, Desiree Lim

Mingu Kim’s documentary A Drummer’s Passion will be screening at this year’s inaugural Toronto Korean Film Festival as part of the Korean Canadian Shorts program on June 26, 2012 7:00PM at Innis Town Hall.  A Drummer’s Passion follows the legendary musician who was a former member of Korean band ADD-4.  Mingu was a finalist of Reel Asian’s 2010 So You Think You Can Pitch Competition and his film screened at Reel Asian in 2011.

Desiree Lim’s The House will be screening at the Female Eye Film Festival on June 21, 2012 9:00PM at Carlton Cinema.  The House is a supernatural psycho-thriller starring some of Vancouver’s top talent and is an imaginative ghost story where a former Wall Street Investment Banker battles her inner demons in a haunted mansion, weaving reality with the other side.  Watch trailer here.  Desiree Lim was Reel Asian’s Canadian Spotlight Artist in 2010.
