Casting Call open for short film “The Trip”

Toronto writer and filmmaker Grace Wang, winner of the Emerging Artist category of Reel Asian’s 2012 “So You Think You Can Pitch” competition, has opened up casting call for her short film, The Trip. The Trip will have its world premiere screening at the 2013 Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival. See below for more information!

Principle Photography:
August 17-20, 2013 (Northern Ontario, on location)

Availability:
Rehearsals in July and early August in Toronto

Status:
non-union, paid.

Story synopsis:
A Chinese mother (SuLin) and daughter (Chloe) go on a weekend trip to Tobermory, a small scenic town in Northern Ontario. Chloe does not want to go. SuLin insists on it. On the last day of the trip these two people who care for each other deeply find a moment of understanding, despite differences, in a mystical and beautiful locale.

Casting Call, SULIN:
Asian female, mid to late 50s.
Comfortable in front of camera.
Performance experience and proficiency in spoken Mandarin and/or Cantonese preferred but not required.
