    The Japan Foundation Toronto and the Toronto Comic Arts Festival present The World of Taiyo Matsumoto, an exhibition of original artworks by one of Japan’s innovative manga creators.

    Taiyo Matsumoto is an internationally renowned Japanese manga creator. Matsumoto is best known to English-reading audiences for his work Tekkon Kinkreet (Black & White), winner of the Eisner Award, North America’s most prestigious comics award. More info of event here

    There will also be an artist talk by Taiyo Matsumoto on Saturday May 11 @ 1:00pm

    The exhibition will open to public from Saturday May 11 – June 7. Free admission

    Kim’s Convenience
    Date: Thu. May 23, 2013 - Wed. June 19, 2013.
    Location: Young Centre for the Performing Arts (50 Tank House Ln, Toronto, ON M5A 3C4) - Toronto

    Soulpepper Theatre’s 2012 season smash hit play, Kim’s Convenience, returns to Toronto for their 2013 national tour! The critically-acclaimed play by Korean-Canadian playwright/actor, Ins Choi, had an incredibly successful run at the 2011 Toronto Fringe Festival. At the festival, Kim’s Convenience picked up the Patrons Pick award, won the New Play competition and was invited to be in the Best of the Fringe Uptown Festival.

    Since the award-winning play appeared at Fringe, Kim’s Convenience have sold out all of its performance runs. However, now there is another chance to see it again!     Scarborough Film Festival

    The inaugural Scarborough Film Festival kicks off this year from June 4 – June 5.

     

    Scarborough Film Festival is a volunteer not-for-profit basis run collective led by arts and culture-professionals and aficionados with key goals of enhancing Scarborough’s cultural offerings through showcasing the best in contemporary local and international cinema, entertaining the public and giving support to filmmakers of Scarborough and worldwide.
