Spur is Canada’s first national festival of politics, art and ideas. In its inaugural launch, the Toronto edition will take place from April 11-14. Spur will be an annual festival designed to engage Canadians in a feisty, nation-wide search for ways forward on the most current of issues.

On Sunday April 14 at 11:30am, acclaimed author, Shyam Selvadurai, will be present for the “Well-Read Mornings” series. Selvadurai will read from and discuss his novel, The Hungry Ghosts, with patrons over continental breakfast.

Selvadurai is a Sri-Lankan born and local writer who has received national and international acclaim since writing his first book, Funny Boy, which won the WH Smith/Books in Canada First Novel Award and the Lambda Literary Award in the U.S. His fourth and latest novel, The Hungry Ghosts, travels between Sri Lanka and Canada in an exploration of universal hungers that can wreak havoc on a country, and in the heart
