The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre and Shiseido presents the Toronto Japanese Film Festival. This year the festival will take place from June 13-28, 2013 at the JCCC.
The Toronto Japanese Film Festival is dedicated to showing the finest Japanese films that have been recognized by Japanese audiences and film critics, international film festival audiences and the Japanese Film Academy. The Opening Night reception kicks off on Thursday June 13 at 6:30pm, followed by a screening of Tenchi – The Samurai Astronomer at 7:30pm.

SYNOPSIS: Based on Kaoru Takamura’s best-selling novel, Kazuyuki Izutsu’s popular 2012 thriller finds a pair of former college mates embarking on a daring 1.5 billion yen gold bar heist from the HQ of Sumita Bank. Their 6 man team also includes an explosives expert, the bank security guard, a former elevator engineer and a North Korean spy (played by Korean pop superstar Chang-min of TVXQ!).
