The 2nd edition of the Italian Contemporary Film Festival (IFCC) takes place in Toronto from June 26 – July 6, 2013.
ICFF is a Festival that takes place during Canada and Ontario’s “Italian Heritage month.” As the only Italian Film Festival in Canada, ICFF will be an influential showcase for contemporary cinema of Italian origin from all over the world. SYNOPSIS: Shun Li works in a textile factory in the outskirts of Rome, in the hope of sponsoring her eight-year-old son who lives in China. Suddenly, she is transferred to Chioggia, a small city-island in the Veneto lagoon, to work as a bartender. Bepi, a Slavic ﬁsherman, nicknamed “the Poet,” has been a regular at her pub for years. The friendship growing between Shun Li and Bepi upsets both the Chinese and local communities as they both interfere with the relationship.
