School4Civics is back!
Boot Camp #1:
Saturday June 22 | 9:30 am – 4:00 pm
The upcoming 2014 municipal elections across Ontario provide an applied learning opportunity for emerging leaders from under-represented communities to organize political campaigns or run for office. School4Civics will be running a series of Boot Camps, workshops and networking events to help get these leaders into election shape.
How we do it
We identify, recruit, train and connect diverse leaders. We offer a non-partisan training program delivered by campaign experts from across the political spectrum. Our goal is to help emerging leaders build political power beyond one single election campaign. We want to make “lifers” out of program participants.
Participants work and learn together, networking, attending sessions and workshops with knowledgeable people from across the political spectrum. They also receive 1-on-1 coaching along the way.
How to participate
We’ve scheduled our first Bootcamp for June. Registering for Bootcamp 1 or 2 indicates your interest and commitment to participating in the 2013 School4Civics project (June 2013 – February 2014).
Bootcamp 1 will focus on:
- What is a campaign?
- How do you get started?
- How do you build capacity?
- Building a political network
