This month, the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre (JCCC) presents Unforgiven (許されざる者) from director Lee Sang-Il as part of their monthly Japanese film screenings. More info

$8 for JCCC members
$10 for non-JCCC members

Synopsis: Director Lee Sang-iI remakes Clint Eastwood’s UNFORGIVEN as a samurai film with Ken Watanabe in the lead role. In Meiji Era Hokkaido a formerly lethal swordsman of the shogunate, who has since renounced killing, is driven by poverty to once again take up the sword as a bounty hunter. The film was screened in the Special Presentation section at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival.Also starring Koichi Sato, Akira Emoto, Yuya Yagira, Eiko Koike and Jun Kimura
