Job Posting: TIFF Social Media Manager

TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) is looking for a Social Media Manager. Application Deadline: March 25, 2011. Start Date: April 18, 2011.This will be an exciting year for TIFF as they present unique programming in a new home and the world’s premiere centre for film, TIFF Bell Lightbox.  TIFF is seeking a highly motivated individual who wants to be part of a new era in Toronto’s cultural history.

Reporting to the Director, Marketing, the Social Media Manager is responsible for development, execution and measurement of social media strategies in a manner that supports marketing initiatives while increasing brand equity and online awareness.  The candidate will work with varied departments within the organization to achieve corporate objectives while ensuring consistent marketing messaging.

Responsibilities:
• Lead planning, management, execution and measurement of social media strategy
• Day-to-day maintenance of social networks: posting and responding to content
• Promote and develop best practices for social media governance (internal and external)
• Keep on-top of TIFF programming and messaging where appropriate
• Establish ownership of the key social networks
• Develop breadth & presence across social networks including location-based networks
• Develop strategies and campaigns to support marketing initiatives
• Provide ongoing analysis & tracking of campaigns
• Live Tweet at special events outside of regular work hours
• Identify and interpret social media practices and current trends
• Work with digital agencies for idea generation and execution of campaigns across social networks

Minimum Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in journalism, business management, communications or public relations
• 3-5 years experience working in marketing, public relations and/or online communications
• Participation in social networking and online communities
•  Proven professional experience working with social networks
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Active in the online social network community
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to think and act strategically
• Ability to multi task and be a self-starter
• Film knowledge a definite asset
• Experience in online marketing, advertising and public relations an asset
