The Second City Outreach & Diversity Weekend (and Auditions)

Saturday, April 5
Meet and Greet • 5:30pm
Join Chicago’s Director of Outreach & Diversity, artists from the community and
Second City staff. Learn about what we do, and opportunities for training and work.
Connect with a diverse community and share your voice, story, poem, stand-up or whatever you like at our FREE Open Mic at 7PM!

Sunday, April 6
Sketch Writing Workshop • 11-2pm
Write and develop your comedic voice! This introductory workshop teaches the
fundamentals of sketch comedy writing. Open to all experience levels.
Improv Audition Workshop • 3-6pm
Hands on practical experience in improv for actors and performers. Ideal for candidates who want to prep and audition on Monday. Open to all experience levels. Space limited.

Monday, April 7
Audition Day
The Second City is casting talent for various projects including the Diversity Scholarship Program. Email torontoauditions@secondcity.com to reserve an audition slot , submit headshot and resume and get criteria for audition. All talent must have an appointment to audition. It is highly recommended, that all talent attend the free improv workshop on Sunday, April 6 as a fun refresher. If you are a current student at Second City or have extensive stage and acting experience in the community, include your training on your headshot and resume.

 

About the audition:
All talent should be prepared to show one monologue (dramatic or comedic) or stand-up – no more than 3 minutes. The “improv segment” of the audition will be a group audition of eight directed by the facilitator of short improvised scenes.
All talent auditioning must have an audition appointment and arrive 15 minutes prior to audition for check-in with headshot and resume.
