Become a Volunteer!
Reel Asian is always looking for committed, enthusiastic, energetic and friendly volunteers to help out. In the lead-up to and during the festival, we need people to help with special events, mailings, tickets, act as ushers, etc. Volunteering with Reel Asian is a great way to meet others who are interested in film and Asian culture and get a closer look into the production of a community-based film and video festival.
Reel Asian volunteers include a wide range of people from all walks of life, from students and fans of Asian culture and film, to professionals wanting to become involved in a community-based organization.

Calling All Richmond Hill Volunteers!
On February 26, 2010, Reel Asian will be presenting a special advance screening of Lixin Fan (范立欣)'s award-winning documentary feature Last Train Home (歸途列車) at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts. This will be our first time presenting anything in this area and we're looking for volunteers in Richmond Hill and across the 905 to help us make this exciting event a success.
There are all sorts of ways to you can help - here are just two of the volunteer opportunities:
We're looking for people to help spread the word about our fundraiser, whether that's through press & media contacts, cultural organizations you might belong to, or even just word-of-mouth through your own social networks. Maybe you belong to a student group at your college or university. Or you're part of a church choir or sports league. Every little bit helps, and we'll even give discounts on ticket sales for groups of 10 or more.

Reel Asian will need volunteers on the night of the event to help greet audience members, distribute programmes, and assist the venue staff. Prior festival experience is ideal but definitely not required, as long as you're an outgoing individual comfortable dealing with the public in an exciting and busy environment. In addition to getting to see the show for free (after you've completed your duties, of course!), you'll get free festival merchandise like t-shirts and water bottles!
