Artist: Zhou Tao | China 2008 | Flatscreen looped video installation with sound

The unified sound of “discipline-building” marches of 1,2,3,4 and chants of over one thousand immigrant workers from fifty companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen invokes the adrenaline of collectivity and with it, complex desires.

The video installations 1, 2, 3, 4 and Conversation with Zhou Tao are part of the special off-screen presenzation Collector(s), the first Canadian solo exhibition of Chinese artist Zhou Tao, curated by Siya Chen and He Cong.

Co-presented by TPW R&D, Collector(s) the main exhibition, runs at the TPW R&D project space from November 8 - 17, with an opening reception on November 8 and a public discussion with curator Siya Chen on November 14.
